光汉国民型华文小学创立于 1909 年，今年已迈入第 117 年，是一间位于吉隆坡百年历史的华教堡垒，占地面积约 7.5 英亩，是吉隆坡首都占地最大面积的华小，属于半津贴学校。光汉华小自创校至今，董事会及其它三机构鼎力配合，致力于学校的发展，并承担着巨额的硬体设备发展和维修。
Founded in 1909, SJKC Kwong Hon is now in its 117th year. It is a century-old bastion of Chinese education located in Kuala Lumpur, covering approximately 7.5 acres — the largest Chinese primary school in Kuala Lumpur by land area, and classified as a semi-subsidized school. Since its founding, the school has developed with the strong support of its Board of Directors and three affiliated bodies, who have shouldered the substantial cost of building and maintaining its facilities.
